Make your Home Happier
It’s the first place you see in the morning and where you come back to at the end of the day, so it’s important that your home bring you joy. By taking this simple advice which take no time at all you could make your home the happiest place in the world.
Make your bed
Have you ever heard the saying “the state of your bed is the state of your head?” Well when you actually think about this this is surprisingly true. When I leave my bed in the morning in a pile of blankets and sheets and walk out of my room I already feel defeated by my bed, my alarm clock and my general sleepy “I don’t want to go to work, I want to stay in bed” mood.
However how about if I said that you can leave your room in the morning feeling motivated and even (dare I say) already productive? Well it comes down to making your bed! Waking up in the morning and fixing your bed then looking at your freshly made bed you can feel motivated. Productive, even. You are ready to tackle the day but you’ve already starting to make your home a happier place to be!
With you bed being fixed your head feels better therefore your house even feels happier (dare I say!) In conclusion; make your bed every morning. Its worth it.
Display sentimental items around your home
One reason that memories of experiences make us happier then material things is due to the fact that the entire cycle of enjoyment that experiences provide: planning the experience, looking forward to the experience, enjoying the experience and therefore remembering the experience. By placing special ‘memory triggers’ such as photos, objects from an experience you can instantly become happier after seeing them resulting in your home becoming a happier place. Make your home a gallery of positive memories.
Green it up
Many of us know that having flowers given by a special someone or even them just in our home is a gorgeous sight and feeling. Making a conscious effort to pretty up your home with the amazing outside world can make your home a happier place. Not only does it improve the air quality but they are also bright and colourful additions to your home. Placing plants and flowers around your home will brighten your day and are known to bring joy and calm to a home. For those who aren’t keen on the idea or don’t think they will actually be able to keep them alive then succulents may just be your answer! These plants don’t need as much attention or water but can still bring that happiness into your home.
No matter how big or small your house may be there is always space to make your own part of the house. By this I mean make your own little ‘positive space’ that it away from the noise of a busy house hold and one that is yours and you keep clean and tidy. Its where you read, think, write or just sit and needs to be a place where you can just unwind and you love. Artists, maybe fill this space with supplies at the ready so you can sit down and create whatever comes to mind or writers, complete your corner with notebook and pen. Whatever your passion is, create a space that you can come to and be yourself.
You’ve probably heard this all before but opening your curtains, doors, windows can instantly make your house a happier place to be. By doing this you can get some fresh air and the warm sunlight streaming through into your home. It makes it warm and welcoming and what else would you want?
All these little super easy changes can help your home become full of happiest. And honestly give them a go…. What do you have to lose?
