BrickX….. One Brick = a Fraction of a Property.
If you have not heard about BrickX then you might be wondering what this is? Considering NAB has just confirmed they will be injecting 9 Million into the platform then maybe it is something to seriously consider.
With the escalating prices in property it is often the situation that people are feeling as though it is impossible to invest. Brick X has developed a way to invest in the property in a by brick way. It is similar to shares. There will be a number of stakeholders or “investors” that purchase a brick (a fraction of the property). You all invest and as the property grows so does your financial gain. You also receive a fraction of the actual rental income – calculated on the amount of “bricks” you own.
Is this the future of property investment or is it just another money making scheme? Essentially below is the best way to break down where exactly the income is coming from. The whole idea of investing in property is for capital gains. In this scenario you really rely purely in capital growth. Although there is a ‘rental income’ the amount you receive would be quite minimal and obviously based on the number of “bricks” owned.
House Valuation less debt = equity. Equity/bricks = Cost per brick
This type of software or program is specifically aimed at people living in Sydney and Melbourne where they find it extremely challenging to enter the market. Is it safer than entering into the stock market? I am not sure – here you are basing your investment on the property market which in the current climate could go either way. At this stage the market is strong in these cities but will it remain that way?
