Classic Hamptons

Classic Hamptons is formal and is symmetrical. It usually boasts more traditional furniture which can be white or oak. Adding ‘classic’ plants such as orchids, hydrangeas for some greenery that is simply stunning. Adding accents with ceramics, silver hardware and a lot of soft beiges, whites, soft blues and navy’s. Linen fabrics and textiles in cushions and curtains. The other nice trait about this style it can slightly integrate a farm country look. You often see pieces that are “French country” which could easily be incorporated into this style just look for lighter woods and classic pieces. There are also a nice array of wall papers and finishes that would suit this style such as wainscotting painted in a light / white paint work.

Plantation Hamptons

This style saw a huge up rise in the last year, with plantation themed items coming into a mix of Hamptons and a modern look. Imagine a light airy oasis using light colours mixed with beiges and greens. Furniture will use linen textiles but, also incorporates rattan chairs, stools into the mix. Items such as woven baskets, lanterns and unique lights with palm fittings. The entire style has a tropical feel to it. Large outdoor woven fans, lux fixtures and fittings with details in silver or gold.

Luxe Hamptons

This type of Hamptons is more prominent in new builds and can be seen as more feminine to some of the other styles. It is sort of Hamptons crossed with modern. The types of finishes are gloss finish and white furniture. It can also include marble finishes and when it comes to accessories it is very minimalistic. All in all it is a very white look with subtle accents of colour and a more clean look with mixed metals.

Coastal Hamptons

The name says it all, this Hamptons style offers beach/ nautical elements that offer natural fibres such as rattan, jute, and linen. The areas of the homes are complemented with accents such as coral, fish and anchors completing the nautical theme. Most of the furnishings are white and the accents are in the details. With this style you can incorporate patterns such as stripes and event offer darker piping details to your décor. It would also be easier to incorporate some darker wood antique pieces into this style. These would complement the palette beautifully.
