Coming out of the cold days into springtime with longer and warmer days ahead, there are more opportunities for you to tackle some jobs you’ve been putting off this winter.
It is now the time to transform your home to a new level.

There is no need to spend loads of money on materials or equipment, hiring tools can be just as easy! You will find some times you have most of the tools you already need.

Spring is considered the season where homeowners are getting handy and working on those tasks around the house to add extra value when it goes up on the market. A few simple jobs can make a big difference.

REMOVE AND REPLACE OLD WALLPAPER

The floral or decorative wall paper you put up last season may have suited the trends back then, however it is time to re consider looking at these details that have opportunities to appeal to the new market. An old wallpaper style can make a room look dated or cluttered. It is easy to strip back wall paper and re design a style that is better suited for the new trends to freshen up the room and home.

Removing wallpaper can be as easy as investing or hiring an electric steamer to seamlessly take off the wall paper. Another option is the traditional method of using a scraper to take it off carefully, which takes time, but we are all about efficiency doing home tasks.

UPDATE THE PAINTWORK

It may sound daunting but refreshing paintwork makes the difference. It is an opportunity to revamp the style of the room, by updating the walls, skirts, window frames or even the doors! If you are putting the house up for sale in the future, it is recommended that you choose classic neutral colours that will suit the majority of preferences in the market. The job can be made easier with a handheld airless sprayer which is ideal for small interior and exterior projects and takes the labour out of painting by hand!

TIME TO SAND THE FLOORS

Older properties tend to have worn out carpet or vinyl and that can have a dated look in the room for a modern market. It is in your best interest to pull up these coverings and expose the wooden floorboards. Not only are these in trend right now but it is more desirable to buyers because it appears as opportunities. Buyers will be more attracted to a sparkling newly oiled deck or an impressive outdoor entertainment area.

Taking the time to sand them back will instantly increase the value and appeal to your house from the market. Wooden floors are a classic and safe option for any buyers. The process of sanding can be easy and the results will pay off. Another tip is to sand over your existing timber deck if it is looking a little faded and needs freshening up.

DON'T FORGET THE OUTDOOR AREAS

It is safe to say after winter has run its course, outdoor areas can take quite the impact, leaving you with months of dirt, dust, grease and garden debris for you to attend to. A solution to this is spring clean paved and concrete outdoor areas, brick paving, driveways, outdoor entertaining and barbecue areas or paving around your pool.

An easy approach to tidying up these areas is simply going through a leaf blower, leaf rake, gardening tools and the compost bin following you around. A high pressure washer is easy and effective tool to remove ingrained stains and instantly elevates the area.

If your property has a pool, to make it more inviting for the market, this is the time to clean out the pool of any debris and take the extra step in cleaning up the water. This will go a long way when it comes to selling your house.
